How to Sew Elastic Band on Wig
One of the most common ways to wear a wig is to attach it to your scalp with an elastic band. The elastic band is usually attached at the horseshoe area on the head and closes off the style. No matter what kind of wig you choose, the elastic band can make or break your look. Whether you are using an adjustable wig or a lace closure wig, this method can make all the difference in whether it sits comfortably and secure.
The first step in sewing an elastic band to a wig is to measure the length of your wig. You should measure the band from ear to ear. Add two or three inches to it, depending on the tightness you desire. Once you have your measurement, sew the elastic band to the wig cap.
The second step is to mark the ear tabs on the wig cap. The elastic band should be large enough to fit your head without pinching it. You can cut a 1 meter elastic band in half to make it smaller. Cut the remaining elastic band into the same length, but make sure that it’s not stretched. Then place it along the curve of the wig, making sure to stitch the edges to the wig in the same position as the ear tabs.
When you’re done, you should have a wig that fits snugly and comfortably. An elastic band is an easy way to fix a wig that’s been damaged or lost its shape. Besides being easy to attach, an elastic band can also be a great way to make it look new and more comfortable.
